The Director General of the Maritime Ports Authority, Captain / Onur Muhammad Adam Sultan, announced the administration’s intention to provide new handling mechanisms for Prince Othman Diqna Port in next February, which will contribute to speeding up the handling of public goods coming through the port.
In the field, his Excellency decided on the readiness of the departure and arrival halls at Prince Othman Digna Port in Suakin, and this came during his inspection tour yesterday to the port of Digna, which is specialized in transporting passengers and general cargo, after the resumption of passenger traffic between Jeddah Islamic Port and Prince Othman Digna Port last week.
During his visit, His Excellency listened to enlighten about the readiness of the new passenger terminal, which will contribute greatly to uniting the efforts of working with the port community’s partners, and Captain Onur also checked the volume of goods coming to the country and the port’s readiness for them to avoid overcrowding. Captain Onur was assured of the services provided to passengers, including air conditioning for the lounges and sitting in the hall, and his Excellency directed the administration of Prince Othman Digna Port to legalize the services provided to arrivals and departures of the homeland through the port by establishing more than (8) ports in the arrival hall to speed up work and avoid congestion, in line with the decision of the Supreme Committee To confront the Corona pandemic
