  • General Layout Of Port Area:

   Off- Shore Single Berth

  ● FOR Tankers 10000 to 50000 summer deadweight tonnes .

  • The project commenced on July 2001 ,  and completed on July 2003.

 ● TERMINAL OPERATION : SPC – Alkhair Petroleum Terminal.

 ● POSITION OF THE TERMINAL:

       Latitude: 19˚ 35      ′ 06 ″N         Longitude: 37˚     14′ 48 ″E

  The Terminal is 1.5 mile ( 2.7 km.) southeast of the entrance of the existing main berth , Port Sudan.

 ● PILOT BOARDING STATION:        Port Sudan pilot station.

WEATHER CONDITIONS:
 The weather of Sudan is very hot and dry .There are two monsoons in a year , one is the season with   southwest monsoon occurred between July and august , and the other is the season with northeast monsoon occurred during November and February .the highest temperature is 52.0˚c and the lowest temperature is 10˚c.
 Relative humidity:  Max. = 97%_________Min. = 21%
 Wind speed:  Max. = 30 Knots
 Sea temperature:  Max. = 30.5° C ________Min. = 24.2° C
 TIDE:   Max. = 0.85 m.
  WAVE: The strongest wave comes from southeast , and the highest significant waves = 3.0 m .

  The secondary strongest wave comes from east and the highest significant waves = 2.4m .

 ● ANCHORAGE:
  No suitable anchorage – vessel to drift about 17 miles off port Sudan.

 ● RESTRICTIONS:
 (a) TANKER AGE : Not more than 20 years .
 (b) SBT Tankers only – no dirty ballast may be discharged – no terminal facility for slops and / or dirty  ballast .
 (c) Notice Of Arrival : 48 hours before arrival, ships carrying hydrocarbons must notify the terminal manager office by E-mail damadama4@sudanports.gov.sd / Fax+249 311824892 as well as to the agent , before arriving at anchorage, of an Insurance Certificate or Financial Guarantee relating to civil liability for damages due to pollution by hydrocarbons .Their admission to the port is conditional to the production of such certificate

 (d) Ships mooring day time only& sailing at any time (24hours).

 • OIL PIT: Capacity = 6.75 m³. With dimension of 1.5 X 1.5 X 3.0 m.
